Amber celebrated 25 years of trading in June 2017. The Midlands based company originally set up working from home in Pype Hayes, Erdington, Birmingham was founded in 1992 by Brendan Maxwell (Chairman) and Paul Bevan. They had identified an opportunity in the uPVC Windows and Home Improvement market place for a company which had the customers interests at the forefront of any project. This concept still applies today. Across the Midlands all projects from just one new window or door at rear of a property, to a complete house of New Doors and Windows, arch door, Patio Sliding Doors, Conservatory or Porch, customers will benefit from the added security of a full no quibble Guarantee coupled with a high quality product. Working from home, Amber found this approach together with genuine advice and customer care paid off. This lead to an increase in customers and a subsequently a need for commercial premises.

The first showroom opened in Grange Road, Kings Heath opposite Kings Heath Park. This location served south Birmingham, including Solihull, Yardley, Warstock, Kingsnorton, Holloywood, Selly Oak, Northfield, Rubery, Longbridge, Cotteridge, Mosley, Weoley Castle and Bournville.

With all this coverage generating countless recommendations and the need to increase manufacturing capacity, further Premises in Erdington were acquired in 1993.

Our Company slogan “Ask your neighbor why!” arose from the many recommendations we received. Around this time Paul Bevan also developed the paint colour Dayglow Orange which was used on all our vans, helping to create an identity and a professional image.

As Amber continued to expand, a need for access to north Birmingham was growing. The M6, M42 and M5 became a wash with the Dayglow Orange of our vans, transporting High Quality Secure Frames to many satisfied customers. With our craftsmen delivering and installing cheerfully and expertly, soon all areas of north Birmingham were a custom to the sight of our amber vans and products.

Full ongoing training is carried out regularly for all aspects of our operations. From design to technical manufacturing and Customer Services, including surveying and processing.

Our Glass and frames are manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility using our highly calibrated machining center.
