Our top four reasons to design your conservatory as a kitchen extension:

There are a wealth of reasons to go for a new conservatory. A popular choice with our customers is to use it to help add more space and extend the kitchen area. Recently there has been an increase in need for a much larger kitchen-dining space than was common just a few years ago. The trend is for most modern homes to blend this into one large open-plan family space. This can be fantastic for entertaining as well as bringing the family closer together at meal times. Here are our top five reasons to use your conservatory as a kitchen extension:

  1. Increase Your Dining Area Space

  2. In our experience a great way to approach the design of your extension is to plan on using the new space as a dining area rather than extending the kitchen cooking area itself. This way you can keep costs down because you may not need to spend any of the budget on new units or moving plumbing around etc.

  3. More Light

  4. There are a number of options to consider, from the color of the frames to maximising the use of light above the dining table with a glass roof. This will create a real atmosphere when tucking into your favourite dish with friends or family in the evenings. The final design can be complemented by modern lighting to give a classy and inviting look to your new space.

  5. Your Garden

  6. We often recommend a way to really open up the connection form your new space to the garden by incorporating some high quality bi-fold doors. These add a sense of freedom as well as giving the conservatory potential to be the central eating area in the summer months when those lazy barbeque evenings come along.

  7. Family Time

  8. Depending on the current size and layout of your property opting for a “P” shaped conservatory could be the right choice. This style can provide great setting for your main focal point/dining table (inside the curved part of the “P”) as well as leaving more room for other comforts such as a seating area or a play area for the kids. If you have the space to fit this type of conservatory it’s well worth some consideration. Especially if the primary use of the conservatory is to be a kitchen-dinner.
