Sectional doors are popular solutions for spaces with wide openings. They can be used as Garage Doors but this isn’t always the case. They feature a column of panels stacked on top of each other to form a solid barrier. Many people prefer this type of design for the following reasons:
Security
The slats used in these doors are primarily made of metal. This can be stainless steel, galvanised steel, or aluminium. They are thick enough to withstand direct blows to any point on the surface. This is sure to frustrate anyone trying to gain unauthorised entry. The Doors are flat with no handle or other mechanisms that can be tampered with from the outside. All of the items inside will remain secure even if unattended for a long time.

Insulation
It is possible to get sectional doors with insulation if environmental effects are a concern. A thick insulating foam is typically sandwiched between two sheets of steel. This keeps the door secure while preventing heat transfer. In the summer, the inside space will stay cool despite the heat of the sun. In the winter, it will remain warm indoors even if it is freezing outside.
Strength
These doors are built to last. High quality materials are used to make sure that the components don’t easily succumb to wear and tear. There should be no worries about deformities in the track or the slats. The whole assembly will stay intact even under extreme pressure. The steel sheets used generally range from 16 gauge to 24 gauge for dependability. The edges are reinforced by the track to help them absorb blows. The connecting links will not be easy to sever.
Versatility
Sectionals can be installed on virtually any type of opening. It does not matter what the shape is since the door will not follow its lines. Even rounded tops will not be a problem. The track will lean on the adjacent wall from the inside and provide full coverage with the right amount of slats. The height of the door is not an issue since you can always add more sections to increase vertical cover. Since the slats move straight up or straight down, this door can be used even in tight spaces such as small garages.
Style
There is much room to play with the style of sectional doors. They come in many different colours to complement their surroundings. More advanced woodgrain finishing treatments are now available which are able to mimic traditional timber finishes including golden oak and mahogany. This way, you can be assured of a strong and secure barrier without compromising on your aesthetics. Light may flood the interiors through the use of glass.
Automation
These doors may be opened manually to keep the costs low. The force needed to lift it up will be minimal to make sure that anyone in the family can do it. However, there is an option available to automate the door for convenience. The slat will go up without the need to use force as the overhead motor will take care of it. The rollers will simply follow the track as the sections are pulled upwards. Lowering them is just as easy and of course Safety Features are in place to prevent accidents.
