Mrs. S of Wolverhampton asked Amber Windows to build a new Conservatory to the rear of her property. She wanted the conservatory to be accessed through her existing patio doors. Within 6 weeks of her order Mrs. S was sitting in her brand new conservatory overlooking her garden and enjoying the early summer weather. Here is a summary of her Amber experience:
Our initial contact with Mrs S was on the 30th March 2018. An appointment was booked for the 31st March for one of our design consultants to visit Mrs S to discuss her requirements in more detail. Following an overview of our company our design consultant presented our Range of Bespoke Conservatories to Mrs S. Based on her needs and budget she chose a 3 metre square bespoke Edwardian Conservatory with a Dwarf Brick Wall and our Ambi Blue Glass Roof. Following further discussions it was agreed with Mrs S that a drainage survey should be undertaken to ascertain the location of any private and public water pipes in the vicinity of the planned conservatory. Mrs. S placed an order with Amber Windows for her new conservatory and with the assistance of our design consultant the required paperwork was completed. A Full Technical Survey was booked for the 4th April 2018.
On the 4th April our surveyor visited the property of Mrs S to perform a detailed survey to validate her chosen conservatory product to ensure that her conservatory could be manufactured to the required specification and specific size. Detailed measurements and a series of photographs were taken. Due to the proximity of a drainage manhole to the rear of her property our surveyor re-confirmed the need for a Drainage Survey to be carried out prior to any building works taking place.
A detailed survey report was produced which included the design of her conservatory showing each side with details of the Windows, Window Openers, Glass Type, Doors, Roof Type and the brick type for the dwarf walls to 3 sides of her conservatory. Mrs S decided to have the entrance to her conservatory on the side which allowed her to have 4 large glass panels with a total of 6 openers to the front giving her uninterrupted views to her garden. Our surveyor walked Mrs S through his survey report explaining the build process from start to finish. An installation start date of the 8th May 2018 was agreed for the base work including Footings, Floor and Dwarf Brick Work. It was further agreed that the PVCu frame, glass units and roof would be installed on the 14th May 2018.
A drain survey was carried out by a specialist company providing high quality CCTV Drainage Inspections. Amber have worked with this specialist for many years throughout the Midlands. This consisted of a visit to Mrs S’s property to carry out a detailed investigation of the location of any drains and water pipes located on her property to ensure that the new conservatory would not have any impact. Following the drain survey it was ascertained that the planned conservatory would not have any impact.
Following Mrs S’s survey the ordered conservatory product requirements were input into our Computer Based Design System which feeds into the manufacturing process. Mrs S’s products were made to order in our state of the art purpose built manufacturing centre based in Coleshill using the latest technology and quality processes which have been ISO 9001 accredited ensuring that quality is built into our manufacturing process at every stage.
Building works were started on the 8th May 2018, the bricks used for the base and dwarf wall closely matched Mrs S’s existing brickwork, helping the new conservatory blend in with her home. At the same time a step was added to the side of the base to allow easy access in and out of the conservatory.
On the 14th May 2018 our conservatory installation team arrived at the home of Mrs S to complete the installation of her new conservatory. The Edwardian conservatory was erected in front of the existing patio doors. Double French Doors were fitted to the side of the conservatory to allow access to the garden area. An Ambi blue glass roof was installed complete with ceiling fan. Following the installation Mrs S inspected the work carried out and was shown how to operate her new windows and doors. She confirmed that she was happy with the work carried out and subsequently signed all the necessary acceptance paper work.
Mrs S received a no quibble insurance backed 10-Year Guarantee on her conservatory. In the unlikely event of there being an issue with her installation she will be able to contact our dedicated Customer Support team who will organise a resolution in a timely and professional manner.
